"Dotonbori at night is genuinely electric, all that neon reflecting off the canal while you eat takoyaki standing up because there's nowhere to sit. That said, I have never in my life been shoulder to shoulder with so many tourists trying to photograph a giant mechanical crab. Osaka Castle was lovely for the twenty minutes before a school trip of 400 children arrived. Still ate better here in three days than I have in three years at home."— Barry Fenwick, Solihull
