TripAdvisor Review

★★★☆☆ 3/5

"Visited Crewe expecting... well, I'm not sure what I expected. The railway station is genuinely impressive - a proper Victorian cathedral to train travel. Spent 3 hours there during a connection and saw more of Britain pass through than most towns see in a year. The town itself feels like it was designed by someone who really, really loved roundabouts and retail parks."

Crewe was literally built from scratch by the Grand Junction Railway Company in the 1840s as a purpose-built railway town, making it one of Britain's first planned industrial communities and explaining why everything revolves around the station.
