John O Groats, Scotland

Windswept Gift Shop Peninsula

"Scotland's Most Expensive Car Park With Views"

Official Coat of Arms

A shield bearing a golden car park ticket rampant above two crossed fish and chips forks, surmounted by a signpost pointing to everywhere except here, all wreathed in perpetual North Sea mist and crowned with a seagull holding a stolen pasty.

TripAdvisor Review

★★★☆☆ 3/5

"Made the pilgrimage to Britain's most northerly mainland point only to find a fancy gift shop, overpriced fish and chips, and a car park that costs more than my train ticket. The signpost photo queue was longer than the one for the Mona Lisa. Still, you can't argue with those dramatic clifftop views when the haar finally lifts."
