It lies on Scotland's north-eastern tip and is popular with tourists. We have decided that is no longer its problem.

Land's End's Smug Older Sibling
"Everyone Else Is Below Us. Literally. On the Map."
Official Coat of Arms
Per pale, a signpost proper, pointing confidently in the wrong direction, upon a field of wind-flattened heather. Supporters: a knackered cyclist and a motorhome with a 'Driven From Land's End' banner. Crest: a lone fridge magnet rampant above the motto 'Nae Further, Pal'.
TripAdvisor Review
★★★☆☆ 3/5
"Drove nine hours for the photo at the signpost and, to be fair, the photo was lovely, once I'd queued behind a stag party and a man dressed as a banana. The hotel looks across to Orkney, which is a nice view, but the ferry is seasonal and the wind is not. There are more souvenir fridge magnets per resident than I thought physically possible. Loses two stars because I checked and the actual most north-easterly point is down the road at Duncansby Head, so my certificate is technically a lie."— Barry from Penzance (Completed The Whole Thing, Ask Me How)
Property Listing
Stunning end-of-the-road location boasting unrivalled sea views with absolutely nothing obstructing them, including shelter. Walking distance to a signpost, a pub and, on a clear day, the entire weather system heading straight at you. Priced for quick sale because the next available property is, technically, Orkney.
Twinned With
Land's End — Two places that exist almost entirely so people can have their photo taken next to a signpost and say they made it.
Supporting Evidence
John O'Groats isn't actually the most northerly point of mainland Britain (that's Dunnet Head) or the most north-easterly (that's Duncansby Head), it just has the best marketing and the signpost.
