"Stopped here on the way from Dublin to somewhere more exciting and ended up staying the night by accident. The Cathedral of Christ the King is genuinely stunning, but I spent forty minutes trying to navigate the one-way system around it. Had a lovely pint by the Royal Canal though, and the bronze statue of Joe Dolan was a nice surprise. Would return, mostly because I'm not sure I ever fully left."— Barry Fitzmaurice, Athlone
