"Took the grandkids for a bank holiday blowout and honestly the wind off the North Sea nearly took my hat, my dignity and my choice of chips clean off the pier. The donkeys on the beach seemed more resigned to their fate than actually happy, much like the arcade attendants. Fish and chips were genuinely brilliant though, and the Jolly Fisherman sign made me smile despite the horizontal drizzle.
