St Ives, England
Little Cornwall's Art Supply Shortage
"Where creativity meets car park chaos"
Official Coat of Arms
A shield divided quarterly: in the first quarter, a golden parking meter rampant on a field of tourist tears; in the second, three seagulls gorging on a Cornish pasty proper; in the third, a palette crossed with a paintbrush over waves of gentrification; in the fourth, a locomotive bearing the legend 'Park & Ride Salvation'.
TripAdvisor Review
★★★☆☆ 3/5
"Lovely seaside town but took 45 minutes to find parking and paid £8 for two hours. The Tate St Ives was brilliant though the queue wrapped around Porthmeor Beach. Grabbed pasties from the harbour and watched seagulls terrorize other tourists. Would return but maybe by train next time."— ArtLover2019 from Birmingham

Supporting Evidence
St Ives has more art galleries per square mile than anywhere else in Britain, yet finding an affordable place to actually live as a working artist is about as likely as finding a parking space in August.
