"Drove through on the Hume Highway and figured we'd stop for the novelty of the name, stayed two nights because honestly the Murrumbidgee River walk and Botanic Gardens are lovely. The flooding history is a bit alarming when the guy at the pub tells you where the water reached in 2012. Wagga Beach on the river is a genuinely nice surprise for an inland city, and the food scene punches above its weight for a place best known for a duplicated name.
