"Drove eleven hours from Adelaide expecting a ghost town and honestly got one, but with excellent art galleries and a mine that literally runs under the main street. The heat is biblical, the flies are relentless, and the Palace Hotel is straight out of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (because it literally was).
