TripAdvisor Review

★★★☆☆ 3/5

"Lovely castle ruins and decent cafes, but spent most of my visit stuck in traffic trying to get over the old Severn Bridge. The town seems designed entirely around people passing through rather than staying. Still, the racecourse was fun and the castle views are genuinely impressive when you can find parking."

Supporting Evidence

Chepstow's strategic position as the first town in Wales meant it collected tolls from bridge crossers for decades, essentially getting paid for people's eagerness to leave England behind.
