Guilford-on-Gridlock

"Where the A3 Meets Your Dreams (And Crushes Them)"

Official Coat of Arms

A shield bearing a cobbled High Street rampant at an implausible gradient, flanked by two roundabouts locked in eternal combat, beneath a spaceship-shaped cathedral gazing down in bemused judgement. The motto beneath reads, in Latin, 'Parking Is Not Guaranteed.'

TripAdvisor Review

★★★☆☆ 3/5

"Popped into Guildford for a spot of shopping and ended up stuck in the multi-storey car park for what felt like a geological era. The castle grounds are genuinely lovely and the cathedral looks like something out of a spaceship, but try getting anywhere near the town centre on a Saturday and you'll understand why the locals all look slightly haunted. Nice river walk along the Wey though, if you can find parking within a mile of it. Would return, but I'd bring snacks and a survival kit for the one-way system."
