"Visited for a wedding and spent the whole weekend wondering why every building sparkles slightly even under a completely overcast sky - turns out it's the granite, apparently it's a whole thing here. Union Street has some genuinely stunning Victorian architecture but half the shopfronts are empty, which feels like a metaphor for the oil industry's mood swings. The seafront is lovely for approximately four days a year when the wind isn't trying to remove your face. Would come back for the beach on one of those four days."— Deborah_Fife_Wanderer
