Airdrie-on-Roundabout

"Where the buses connect and dreams get diverted"

Official Coat of Arms

A shield bearing a crossed pair of bus timetables perpetually under revision, rampant above the Time Capsule's iconic ski-slope roofline, all set beneath a sky the colour of a wet pavement. Motto scroll reads 'Aye, It's Just Up The Road' in a font nobody can quite read.

TripAdvisor Review

★★★☆☆ 3/5

"Came for the retail park, stayed because my car wouldn't start in the multi-storey. The Time Capsule leisure centre is genuinely great fun if you like slides, but the town centre itself feels like it's been on a permanent tea break since the 90s. Locals are dead friendly though, and the chippy near the station sorted me right out."

Coatbridge — Two towns locked in eternal, good-natured rivalry over which one has the slightly better bus interchange.

Supporting Evidence

Airdrie's Time Capsule leisure centre features a real dry ski slope and ice rink, a genuinely unexpected feature for a former industrial North Lanarkshire town.
