Chester, England
Medieval Theme Park Upon Dee
"Where Every Street Looks Like a Film Set"
Official Coat of Arms
A shield divided quarterly, bearing a Roman centurion wielding a credit card reader, a black and white Tudor beam supporting a Starbucks sign, a red sandstone wall with 'COACH PARKING £15' emblazoned beneath, and a rampant River Dee struggling under the weight of pleasure boats shaped like medieval galleons.
TripAdvisor Review
★★★☆☆ 3/5
"Visited Chester expecting a proper English city and found what feels like a very expensive open-air museum. The Rows are admittedly unique but good luck finding anything that isn't either a chain restaurant or selling overpriced 'medieval' tat to tourists. Even grabbed a coffee and the barista was dressed like they were auditioning for a Robin Hood film. The Roman walls are lovely though, and at least you can walk them for free while questioning why a pint costs £6 in what used to be a perfectly normal pub."— ModernHistoryBuff from Wolverhampton

Supporting Evidence
Chester's famous Rows are the only covered galleries at street level in the world, originally built so medieval merchants could avoid the mud and horse droppings below - today they serve the same function but for avoiding tour groups with matching umbrellas.
