"Stopped here on the way to Windermere and honestly ended up quite charmed, though the one-way system nearly ended my marriage. Kendal Castle is a nice ruin for a picnic if you don't mind it being mostly a field with some walls. Bought some mintcake because you have to, still not sure anyone actually enjoys eating it rather than just surviving on it up a mountain.
