Airport Layby Central

"You're Only Here For The Flight"

Official Coat of Arms

A shield bearing a wheelie suitcase rampant beneath a low-flying easyJet, flanked by two roundabouts, with the motto scroll reading 'ALMOST LONDON' in fading paint.

TripAdvisor Review

★★★☆☆ 3/5

"Landed at 6am, left by 6:15, but somehow still saw the whole town from the taxi window. The Mall Luton has a nice enough food court if you enjoy eating a Greggs while watching planes take off overhead. Luton Hoo is genuinely lovely and confusingly nowhere near the bit everyone actually visits. Three stars because the airport bus was on time, which felt like a miracle."

Property Listing

Charming commuter opportunity offering unrivalled proximity to Junction 10 of the M1 and the gentle, rhythmic hum of aircraft as natural white noise. Perfect for the buyer who values 'twenty-five minutes from St Pancras' far more than 'twenty-five minutes from anything in Luton itself'.

Twinned With

Newark — Both are the unglamorous airport town everyone flies into but nobody admits to visiting.

Supporting Evidence

Luton Airport is closer to Bedford than to central London, despite regularly being marketed to tourists as 'London Luton'.
