"Visited my sister in Mackay for Christmas and I've never sweated so much standing still in my life. The Bluewater Lagoon is genuinely great and saved the trip, but walking anywhere between 10am and 4pm feels like a personal attack from the sun. Great pubs though, and the sugar train that trundles through town is oddly charming once you stop being confused by it. Would come back but only between May and July."— Deb_from_Toowoomba
