"Beautiful beaches, lovely weather, genuinely nice people - but my god the isolation is real. I flew four and a half hours from Sydney and it felt like landing on a different planet, complete with its own time zone nobody on the east coast can ever remember. Cottesloe Beach sunsets are spectacular, Kings Park is genuinely world class, but the flight home cost more than my hotel.
