Morecambe, England
Bay Watch (Without the Baywatch)
"Where the tide goes out and doesn't come back for miles"
Official Coat of Arms
A shield depicting an empty expanse of wet sand stretching to the horizon, rampant, with the Midland Hotel gleaming improbably white in one corner. Above it, a statue of Eric Morecambe mid-dance, forever unbothered by the cockle-picking tragedy that gives Morecambe Bay its grimmer footnote, and below, a banner reading 'Sunshine Optional'.
TripAdvisor Review
★★★☆☆ 3/5
"Went for a bracing walk along the prom and the tide was so far out I nearly ended up in Ireland. The Eric Morecambe statue is genuinely lovely and does its best Eric Morecambe impression better than the town does its 'Riviera of the North' one. Half the seafront is beautifully restored Art Deco, the other half looks like it's still waiting for investment promised in 1987. Fish and chips were excellent though, so three stars for that alone."— Barbara Sunshine, Chorley

Supporting Evidence
Morecambe Bay has the largest expanse of intertidal mudflats and sand in Britain, and the tide can come in faster than a person can run, which is either a fun fact or a public safety announcement depending on your mood.
