RAF Retirement Village

"Where Fighter Jets Go to Die"

Official Coat of Arms

A silver Hawk jet trainer rampant upon a field of perpetual grey drizzle, flanked by two dormant runway lights and crowned with a windsock pointing in the direction of 'anywhere but here'. The motto beneath reads 'From Flying High to Standing Still'.

TripAdvisor Review

★★★☆☆ 3/5

"Visited St Athan expecting a quaint Welsh village but found what's essentially a military aircraft graveyard with houses. The highlight was definitely watching planes that will never fly again rusting peacefully in the Welsh drizzle. The local pub serves decent chips though, and you can't beat the authentic sound of absolutely nothing happening for miles around."
