"Came here expecting the famous Ali G postcode and instead found a perfectly pleasant riverside with a surprising number of Wetherspoons-adjacent pubs. The Thames path is lovely and the swans were frankly more confident than the staff in the high street cafe. Staines Bridge is a handsome landmark, and I only got lost once trying to find the way out of the Elmsleigh Centre. Easy to reach, easy to leave, and the planes overhead from Heathrow add a free soundtrack."— Marjorie T, Slough (on a day trip, apparently)
