A short, honest privacy notice. The TL;DR is: there is barely anything to be private about.

The summary

• No accounts. You don't sign up for anything.
• No tracking cookies. No analytics, no advertising pixels, no third-party trackers.
• No newsletter. We do not collect email addresses.
• We save the rebrand you generate so other people who type the same town name get an instant result. It's stored against the town name, not against you.
• We see your IP address briefly for rate limiting and standard server logs. We do not log it long-term, sell it, or share it with marketing partners.

What your browser stores locally

The site uses your browser's local storage to remember one thing: whether you prefer light or dark mode. That preference never leaves your device. Clearing your browser data removes it.

What we send to third parties

To generate a rebrand we send the town name (and the optional country/region you typed) to Anthropic, the company that runs the Claude AI model. Anthropic processes the request under its own privacy policy. We do not send your IP address, your browser fingerprint, or any other personal data along with the request — only the town and country you entered.

The site is hosted by a third-party hosting provider, which sees standard request metadata (IP, user agent, referrer) for any website it serves, governed by its own privacy policy.

What gets stored, and for how long

• Rebrands. The town name, country/region, and the AI-generated rebrand are saved so the next visitor sees the same one. We refresh entries from time to time.
• Recent rebrands list. A small list of recently-rebranded towns is kept so the homepage can show them. Old entries fall off the list automatically.
• Rate-limit information. We track request rates briefly to enforce rate limits. This information is short-lived and is not used for anything else.

Children

The site is not aimed at children and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Your rights

If a rebrand for a town you care about — or a recent-rebrands entry showing a town you typed — makes you uncomfortable, get in touch and we will remove it. The same applies to anything else you would like removed.

Changes to this notice

If we change this page in any meaningful way, the new version will be visible at renamemy.com/privacy.
