Radcliffe, England
Bury's Slightly Disappointing Cousin
"We're technically Greater Manchester too"
Official Coat of Arms
A shield quartered with a steam locomotive (representing the East Lancashire Railway), a half-empty shopping precinct, the River Irwell meandering apologetically through industrial wasteland, and a house price that's surprisingly reasonable for Greater Manchester. Supported by two figures: a commuter clutching a delayed train ticket and a local councillor holding regeneration plans from 2008.
TripAdvisor Review
★★★☆☆ 3/5
"Visited Radcliffe expecting... well, I'm not sure what I was expecting. The town centre has that 'permanently about to be regenerated' vibe that's lasted about 15 years. Nice enough people, decent chippy, and the East Lancashire Railway station is actually quite charming. Just don't come here for nightlife unless Wetherspoons counts as culture."— TrainSpotter_Dave from Stockport

Slough — Both places where people say 'it's not as bad as everyone thinks' while secretly planning their escape.
Supporting Evidence
Radcliffe's town centre was once described as having 'untapped potential' so many times that the phrase itself has become a local drinking game trigger word.
