"Came for the beach, stayed because my car wouldn't start on the seafront. The sand is genuinely lovely and stretches for miles, but the derelict steelworks looming in the distance gives everything a slightly post-apocalyptic vibe. Fish and chips on the front were excellent though, and the Bents Park was surprisingly nice for the kids. Would come back but bring a coat, even in July."— BrianFromBarnard_Castle
