Solihull, England
Birmingham's Posher Cousin
"Where the M42 meets middle-class aspiration"
Official Coat of Arms
A shield bearing the Land Rover factory rampant on a field of Touchwood shopping bags, flanked by two identical Range Rovers parked at slightly wrong angles, beneath a banner reading 'Semi-Detached and Proud'.
TripAdvisor Review
★★★☆☆ 3/5
"Came for the Touchwood shopping centre, stayed because I got lost trying to find a parking space near the Piazza. Solihull is lovely if you like your towns clean, roundabout-heavy, and full of Range Rovers doing the school run. The John Lewis is genuinely excellent but the nightlife is basically Nando's and a Prezzo, so don't expect much after 9pm."— Deborah H, Sutton Coldfield
Property Listing
Nestled just far enough from Birmingham to pretend you're not from Birmingham, this charming market town offers superb motorway links, a shopping centre that rivals actual cities, and mock-Tudor houses so convincing you'll forget they were built in 1987.
Twinned With
Cheadle Hulme — Both are affluent suburban outposts convinced they're not actually part of the bigger, grittier city next door.
Supporting Evidence
Solihull is home to the Jaguar Land Rover plant, meaning a huge chunk of the world's most expensive off-road vehicles that will never see mud are built right here.
